A Spoonful of Sweet Greek Aromas...
Handmade According to a Traditional Recipe!
"Spoon sweets" are sweet preserves, served in a spoon as a gesture of hospitality in Greece. They can be made from almost any fruit, though sour & bitter fruits are especially prized, & not only. A well-made "spoon sweet" retains the original shape, colour, aroma & taste of the fruit. Our collection from "Georgoulas Bros" consists of grated quinces, unripe figs & walnuts, bergamot & watermelon peels, young rose petals & firiki apples, pitted black cherries & green olives. Traditionally they are offered as a sweet treat next to the coffee or tea but they are also great toppings for Greek yoghurt & ice cream. In a more modern way, they are also used as a spread on toast for breakfast or on cheese plateaus.
"Georgoulas Bros" have started in 1978 as a family business & they are exclusively engaged in the production of traditional "spoon sweets" & jams, being a "myth" in their region. Faithfully following traditional recipes, they create authentic handmade products that offer you wonderful aromas & flavours. In the picturesque Portaria of Pelion, in the mountain of the Centaurs, they produce with selected fruits of the Greek land (own or from selected farmers), the most delicious "spoon sweets" in their ultramodern facilities. By implementing a direct control at all stages of production, from proper plant cultivation, harvest conditions to processing, standardization & distribution of the products, they manage to produce natural "spoon sweets" (free from preservatives & additives) of the highest quality.
