Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is an aromatic perennial evergreen herb in the Lamiaceae family & is relative to the oregano genus Origanum. It has culinary, medicinal & ornamental uses. Ancient Greeks used it in their baths & burnt it as incense in their temples, believing it was a source of courage. Thyme has a strong & slightly spicy taste & can be used as a spice or as a tea.
