Crete "Raisins" olives In Brine
Also known as "Alatsolies" or "Throumbes" or "Pastolies", the "Raisins" of Crete In Salt come from the variety "Thrombolia" or "Chondrolia" which is unique due to the fact that the peeling of the fruit is done with completely natural processes on tree.
The fruit is cylindrical, slightly convex on one side, black during collection, while ending in a small nipple. In terms of fruit size, it is a variety of small to medium fruit with an average weight of 1.5-4gr / piece. It is cultivated mainly in the hinterland of Heraklion and Rethymnon, and at an altitude of up to 1000m.
At NUTRITIONAL CRETE we use coarse sea salt during the processing of the olive, at the end of which, the fruit acquires a raisin appearance, while its preservation is ensured in brine. The final product is a sweet fruit with strong taste characteristics!
